Walleye Trail (PWT)
pros and amateurs hit the water Wednesday, June 19 for three days of
fishing
on Lake Winnebago, affectionately known as Wisconsin’s Walleye Factory.
Headquartered at the Pioneer Resort and Marina where
daily weigh-in and
stage show festivities take place, anglers will fish the entire Winnebago
system. The details:
What: The MinnKota/Mitchell Mideast Pro-Am,
the fourth stop on the 2002
PWT tour, a series that includes seven tournaments and $1,600,000 in
prizes
When: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, June 19-21
Where: Lake Winnebago and upriver lakes
Why: For a share of $250,000 in cash and merchandise
prizes
Who: The world’s best pro walleye anglers paired
daily with amateurs who
want to learn more about the sport (amateurs also win prizes)
How: Fishing from the shallow shorelines to
the expansive mid-lake waters,
using all known walleye tactics from jigging to trolling and everything
in-between
