Hope this finds that everyone is doing well and getting ready for Christmas with family and friends. With half of our 2004 season completed we are very pleased and hope that you are also. Year to date we are 13% ahead of participation over 2003. We are averaging 51 teams per tournament with over $17,000.00 paid out to participants. The Walleye Angler of the year fund has accumulated $770.00 to date with the point standing being very close at half the season. You will see some upgrades starting in March. We have acquired two new scales that will weigh in 1/100 of a pound along with digital readouts for the spectators to view the weights. This should help in breaking some of the ties that we have. We are also trying to get on line registration with credit cards through pay pal. (stay tuned) We are also very pleased that six teams from the trail received invitations to the Cabelas National Championship in June of 2004. They were the top six teams in the point standing at the end of the 2003 season. The location for this tournament will be released after the first of the year. These teams are : Al Schrofer and Mike Gibson Joe Miller and Rick Taylor Max Actis and Mike Stuckert Steve Hunter and Donny Farrell Cory Blair and Mike Richetta Bill Walsh and Chris Elzer The Championship will be a 250 team field from 38 sanctioned tournament circuits. Good Luck to the teams and we will be cheering you on. We will also have 2 spots for the RCL Championship in October at the Quad City area. One spot will be the winners of the 3rd Annual Illinois Governors Cup Mike Gibson and Al Schrofer and the other spot will be the Walleye Anglers of the Year, at the end of the 2004 schedule. Again good luck to these teams and we will be cheering you on also. The 4th Annual Illinois Governors Cup is well under way. We have schedule it for March 6, 7, 2004. Applications are starting to come in. It will be advertised in the following Outdoor publications in January and February, Heartland Outdoors, Outdoor Notebook, Midwest Outdoors and Adventure Outdoors. Don't let the Ottawa Pool fool you. In the October Cup the weights were not that much different between the pools. Also, in our December tournament we had one team lock through and fish Ottawa and they were only of one pound off the winning weigh and I understand they lost one at the boat that would of won it. (ouch) March will be a busy month with the Cup, then the IWT on 3/21, the MWC the following week and the RCL. In closing we hope everyone has had an enjoyable year. As I have said before "if you like what we are doing tell your friends, If not tell us. May you all have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Bob and Linda
