Walleye Pros Troll for the Future The National Professional Anglers Association Conducts Youth Event Escanaba, Mich. - The National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA), with a membership that exceeds 500 fishing professionals, is proud to host a youth event on Monday, August 23 from 6 PM to 9 PM, at the Delta Plaza Shopping Mall. Youth of all ages are invited to meet the NPAA Pros, hop up into the Pros’ top-of-the-line equipped boats and learn how to tie knots, bait hooks, and learn things from fish biology to boating safety tips. NPAA Pros represent the best of the best and will share their walleye-catching tricks with the kids to ensure the kids’ future fishing ventures will be a great way to spend their recreational time with family and friends for the rest of their lives. Steve Fellegy, NPAA Youth Event Coordinator at all the Professional Walleye Trail tournaments says, “We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to come to the Escanaba area and interact with the kids. It’s very important that we introduce fishing to kids at an early age.” NPAA Pros are in town to compete in the Outdoor Channel’s Pro-Am Artificial Challenge, which is the fifth of six tournaments in the prestigious In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail. The total purse is estimated at $400,000 in cash and prizes. The tournament is being held on the Bays de Noc on August 25, 26 and 27. For more information on this great opportunity for Escanaba area youth, contact the NPAA office at 630-845-2766. “Let’s Go Fishing!”
