BRADT, BERSCHEID WIN WAL-MART FLW WALLEYE LEAGUE EVENT ON MILLE
LACS AITKIN, Minn. (May 30, 2005) -
Boater Geoff Bradt of Osceola, Wis., and co-angler Rick Berscheid
of Long Prairie combined for a total of five walleyes weighing
13 pounds to claim victory at the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League
Minnesota Division tournament held Saturday on Mille Lacs. Bradt
claimed $2,485 plus a $500 bonus for the win, with Berscheid
earning $1,243 plus a $250 bonus. Bradt and Berscheid trolled
mid-lake mud flats in 25 feet of water with 1/2-ounce Lindy
Rigs on 12-foot leaders to catch their tournament-winning limit
of walleyes. Finishing second were Mark Leadens of Elk River
($1,278 plus $400 bonus) and Todd Springer of Luck, Wis. ($639
plus $200 bonus) with five walleyes weighing 12 pounds, 5 ounces.
Scott Lamoreaux of Coon Rapids ($1,065 plus $300 bonus) and
John Grahek Jr. of Grand Forks, N.D. ($533) caught five walleyes
weighing 11 pounds, 11 ounces to finish third. Kirk Decamp of
Rockford ($923) and Dennis Springer of Luck, Wis. ($461) claimed
fourth place with four walleyes that weighed 10 pounds, 4 ounces.
Finishing fifth were Dan Krukow of Rochester ($639 plus $200
bonus) and Chad Smith of Maple Grove ($319) thanks to a four-walleye
catch that weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces. The Minnesota Division's
next event will be June 25 on Cass Lake. Boaters and co-anglers
who finish in the top 35 in final points standings in each FLW
Walleye League division will advance to the no-entry-fee $115,000
Wal-Mart FLW League Finals Sept. 8-10 on the Mississippi River
in Winona, Minn. The winning boater at the finals will receive
an Evinrude-or Yamaha-powered Ranger 621 boat. Every angler
who receives weight credit in a tournament earns points, with
200 points awarded to the winner, 199 points for second, and
so on, except for Super Tournaments, which award 300 points
to the winner, 298 to second, and so on. FLW Walleye League

with boaters competing against other boaters and co-anglers
