BRP UNVEILS NEW 2009 MODELS & INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY ON ENTIRE
LINE-UP FOR EVINRUDE 100th ANNIVERSARY
New 115 H.O. and 130 hp engines latest
additions
Sturtevant, Wis., September 16, 2008 – BRP unveils additional
new models and
enhancements to its entire centennial 2009 model year line-up
of Evinrude® E-TEC® outboards.
The 2009 line-up now features engines from 25- to 300-horsepower
and boasts 7 new 115-hp
High Output (H.O.) and 130-hp engines to round up the V4 platform.
New components, design
upgrades and innovative advancements are incorporated into
every platform of Evinrude E-TEC
engines and extend the easy-to-own, low maintenance attributes
that allows boaters to spend
more time on the water.
“Boaters worldwide will now benefit from an expanded
2009 centennial model year Evinrude
engine line-up," said Roch Lambert, vice-president and
general manager, Outboard Marine
Engines division. “These new models represent our commitment
to continue growing our
E-TEC line well into the future,” he concluded.
Chris Dawson, vice-president and general manager, International
Division, states, “The
Evinrude brand is found in almost every waterway in the world
and the new 115 H.O. and 130-
hp engines represent a significant opportunity in many of our
markets as this is a key
horsepower range. With our expanded line-up over the past year,
we are excited about the
future and continuing the brand legacy as we take Evinrude
E-TEC into the next 100 years.”
The new 115 H.O. and 130-hp engines, which are ideally suited
for RIBs, pontoon, bay, flats
and aluminum fishing boats, present unique advantages only
BRP's Evinrude E-TEC engines
offer in today’s outboard engine technology: light weight
- the 130-hp weighs a full 140 pounds
less than comparable engines in its class; high power and performance;
no maintenance; and
cleaner, quieter operation. Their low maintenance design combined
with superior fuel efficiency
ranks these among the least costly engines to operate in the
industry.

The new 115 H.O. and 130-hp engines also feature extreme low
speed running capabilities, the
lowest RPM of any engine in its class, making them especially
well suited for slow speed trolling
on fishing boats while providing precision control during docking
and other slow speed
operations.
Through an exclusive design, a new exhaust valve, standard
on all 115-hp, 115 H.O. and 130-
hp engines, provides an improved power curve by utilizing the
full peak horsepower of the
engine while retaining all the low-end torque. A BRP exclusive,
this Evinrude innovative
technology provides superior low-end torque for pulling skiers,
wakeboarders or planing heavy
loads while delivering uncompromised top speed for getting
to a favorite fishing spot more
quickly. And, as with all E-TEC outboards, improved fuel economy
on these new models
continues to be an added benefit over other comparable outboard
engines in the same class.
Upgrades to the entire 2009 line of Evinrude E-TEC engines
result in increased durability,
engine longevity and operator comfort…
· Evinrude engines’ exclusive iridium spark plugs
increase plug life while reducing the cost
of ownership and maximizing time on the water. Only found on
BRP's Evinrude E-TEC
engines, the iridium spark plugs provide a longer, more efficient
spark and, reduce the
need for frequent spark plug changes.
· Smooth and consistent run quality at every RPM range
is provided by an all-new patentpending
fast rise inductive ignition system available on most Evinrude
E-TEC models.
This exclusive technology also provides improved fuel economy
and smoother operation
without sacrificing performance.
· Instant, reliable starts and maximum fuel efficiency
are provided by enhanced fuel
injectors. Precision control of the fuel means the engine starts
the first time, every time.
These advanced technology fuel injectors also provide quicker
acceleration at every
take-off.
· Added durability comes with an improved cylinder sleeve
design allowing greater
performance and longer life under any load.

· Increased power and durability through a newly designed,
lost foam engineered exhaust
housing, coupled with a new design for the upper motor cover
which increases the
circulation of cool air delivers more power and gets you to
your running speed faster.
· Enhanced Styling and Graphics Package on all High
Output models including the new
115 H.O. white 20- and 25-inch shaft models, give outstanding
visual appeal to any
boat/motor package.
