Walleye fishing report for Lake of the Woods MinnesotaUpdated: 09/23/04 BORDER VIEW LODGE FISHING REPORT September 19th, 2004 I guess summer is officially here! It is supposed to get up to 87 degrees today. It touched the 80’s yesterday. I guess better late than never. It has been cooling off in the evenings with some nights down in the 40’s. Fishing has been excellent. We have been rigging about 5 miles out of the gap, and mixing in some bait fishing just outside the gap. Here are some of the guys from the St Paul Club with their Friday catch. A 29½-inch Walleye was released. We are still waiting for that monster Northern picture I mentioned last week. Get the net!
We are always looking for ways to improve our service, and are expecting smoother, faster, and even more reliable ice transportation with our exciting new vehicles. Introducing Haaglunds BV206 amphibious personnel carrier. These units are made to go through anything especially snow. Built in Sweden and used by the military in the artic the BV206 cannot be compared to the Bombers. Completely floatable! A boat- like underbody, solid rubber tracks
and no skis make these units unique. All four tracks driving the
machine and the rugged suspension system make the ride smoother than traditional
track rigs. The 6- cylinder Ford motor with a geared up transmission
also make these machines go like no other.
BORDER VIEW LODGE FISHING REPORT September 6th, 2004 There have been reports of nice Walleye in the river although the water temp has not dropped significantly. Currently the water temp is 65 degrees, down about 5 degrees from last week. Great numbers of nice limit size fish have been caught in the deeper water. The weather forecast again has highs in the 80’s for the week. Here is Rich, Mark, Kirby and Kevin with a days catch. Early in the morning Kevin was fly fishing off the dock and caught a couple of nice Northerns. Lisa promised to clean and cook them if he caught any, she was not confident in his efforts.
BORDER VIEW LODGE FISHING REPORT August 15th, 2004 We have had another great week of fishing and weather. There has been plenty of action and great fish deep while fishing in the mud. Also there have been some reports of great fish near or on some of the rock reefs. Here is Tom Schloeder with a 28 and a half incher.
