Wow, the fishing has been terrible the last few days.
What a lousy weekend for fishing. The wind, rain and
wait...call Al Gore, we had snow yesterday. Was it Global
Warming or Global Cooling? Yes, I know I will get some
return emails for that remark, but after the winter
that just won't go away, had to say it. We did have
a great day last Friday, lots of white bass and a some
walleye and sauger. The white bass were big, in the
pound to 2 pound category. The good news is the river
has not gone up since Saturday and hopefully it won't
go up any more. According to the internet, the water
is suppose to stay relatively steady all week, then
start dropping on Saturday. Which my guess would be
fishing could be pretty good this weekend and the following
weekend would be a lot better. The water is warming
up into the 50's but slowly. If the water stays like
it is the current will slacken a little too, especially
after the water starts dropping. So, fishing is slow
right now, but we are optimistic that in a week to ten
days the fishing should be fantastic. Right now the
white bass are biting very well on floating jigs and
hair jigs.
